The Chinsegut Nature Center, along with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, will host "Pioneer Day" this Saturday, November 4, 2006 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event will take place at the Chinsegut Nature Center which is located approximately 7 miles north of Brooksville on Lake Lindsay Road (at the flashing traffic signal, go west off US41). Pioneer Day has many fun things planned like kid's sack races, watermelon seed spitting contests, cow milking, soap making, beekeeping demonstrations, etc. This is a family-friendly event should be great fun with the old-fashioned hand-cranked ice cream and horse drawn wagon rides.
