Survey

The Greater Hernando Chamber of Commerce sent out a questionnaire for county commission candidates that can be viewed on their website.

Even though this candidate survey was geared toward the business community, it gives a clear prospective to the public about the professional manner of each candidate. Most candidates answers were clear and concise, typed in a neat, business-like manner. Several exceptions to these answers were that of Mr. Jim Adkins who chose to hand write short, incomplete answers to his questions, compared to the long, drawn-out response of Chris Kingsley that never really got to the point.
Anyway, check it out for yourself and drawn your own conclusions at:
***Don't forget about the candidate forum being presented by the Chamber of Commerce tonight (6 p.m) in the County Commission Chambers.

I just finished watching the C of C forum. Hopefully next time Mr. Healis will do some real research before relying on incorrect second-hand info from a biased source in talking about the number of professional positions in a county office.

If elected, I'm sure Mr. Healis will thoroughly familiarize himself on the professional positions he noted in last night's question & answer session at the forum. In fact, if you recall he said that he would review the legal department to analyze whether a reduction in employees was necessary or judge if the ones on staff were appropriate for the department after an external audit.

I'm sure, after he is on board, that he will realize the county already has a complete, outside annual audit which should be sufficient for his needs to analyze departmental functions.

It is obvious that Mr. Adlins wrote honest concise answers to the questions rather than have advisors write a wordy report and type up to try to make an imprsssive presentation. This was quiet obvious when Mr. Heallis couldn't answer the questions at the forum last night at the Court House.

At the forum last night, Mr. Healis answered the question presented to him in great detail about the number of attorneys on the county staff & how he would investigate this issue if elected to the position.

In short, "the concise answers" given by Mr. Adkins "per your description" were very unprofessional and looked like an
8th grade student had haphazardly turn in a late paper, just to get by...

Unfortunately Mr. Healis gave a wrong answer when he said there were SIX attorneys in the County office...it appears his "advisers" on this issue have given him bad information, undoubtedly due to Haa/Baldwin overload. Until budget year 01-02, there were only two or three attorney positions funded. There have been five attorney positions each year since. There have never been six attorney positions.

Note that one attorney is funded by the utilities department..so do we have 5 or do we have 6? Do we know if any other departments fund an attorney? Another point, a ceratin group of you like to make an orgainzed effort on discrediting Bill Healis. YOU should ashamed of yourselves...nothing left to say...raise your flag in the gutter...fluff your curb and get cozy...the damage you are doing may not be repairable...but don't think about it....you would only hurt yourselves. Jim Adkins and Billy Healis are both good men and good R's. While your mouths are moving try to let your brain kick in for a minute and Remember what Ronald Reagan said about the 11th Commandment...it was NOT lip service. Our GREATEST President meant what he said!
