Please be advised that I have put a block on the comments to my post titled, "Garbage In, Garbage Out". The block was necessary for this post after I received comments that contained profanity. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.

There was one word of profanity in the entire post and it was a quote from Lenny Bruce. Instead of deleting the entire post and removing the ability for people to comment on that issue you could have edited out the offensive word.
That you chose to delete the entire post and not let anyone else comment speaks volumes on your real opinion of first amendment rights.
I posted the comment you deleted. I cut and pasted a list of quotes on censorship below my original opinion. It wasn't until after the quote was posted that I noticed the four-letter word. If your blog allowed me to edit my own posts I would have either removed that quote or asterisked the offensive word but I could not.
As I said originally. When someone questions the first amendment right to free speech it is usually because they have heard or read something they disagree with and are afraid may find support.

Thank you for your comments but perhaps you should take the time to re-read "Garbage In, Garbage Out" again since it is obvious that you had some confusion over the message which was freedom of speech vs. slander, not the censure of anyone's Constitutionally protected freedoms under the 1st Amendment.
Respectfully

perhaps you should have taken the time to read my post because I addressed that point.
Slander is an untruth, not just something you happen to disagree with.
I also find it ironic that you described internet posts as propaganda when you, yourself have a blog.

Slander, by the textbook definition, is a malicious statement or report; the act of malice being the intent, without just cause or reason, to commit an unlawful act that will result in harm or injury to others. Yes, I will concide the point that any written word could be interpreted as propaganda by the reader.

"Hate speech, political speech, insults, and baseless character destruction are examples..."

I agree. Along those lines, Limbaugh, Hannity, O'Reilly, Savage and Gibson are examples.

A few more to add to you list should include CNN, CBS, MSNBC, etc. for their deceptive news practices. The omission of the truth, calling it news,is also another form of propaganda...

"The omission of the truth..."

We should include our president for omitting the truth, when he said four days after Katrina that "nobody anticipated" the levee flooding.

"...calling it news,is also another form of propaganda..."

You want propaganda? Try this:
"See, in my line of work, you got to keep repeating things over and over and over again for the truth to sink in, to kind of catapult the propaganda." (Bush in Greece, N.Y., May 24, 2005)

I do not agree with your viewpoint of the world and it is apparent you do not agree with me. I will just say that it is great to live in a country that allows this type of open debate. Thanks for your input.
